Who we are... Extra is the most famous German aerobatic aircraft manufacturer with leading edge technology in the unlimited aerobatic field and, in business aviaition aircraft, Extra is redefining its class.
Walter Extra started producting his first aerobatic aeroplane in 1984. By developing high performance aerobatic aircraft, the Extra 300 became the largest selling aerobatic aircraft worldwide in 1990 and is the only aircraft with full international Certification to +10/-10g

Shortly afterwards, a new idea was born - the vision of a six-seater aircraft in the business class. In 1996, the first test flights of the Extra 400 took place and, in 1999, the production of this aircraft series commended..

Future projects... The existing factory production space is now inadequate to cope with future plans and, thus, expansion by the addition of a further 13 000 square metres is planned. This will allow for projected production of forty Extra 300 series aircraft and forty Extra 400 series aircraft in the year 2000 to be achieved.
